Fatal Des Moines, Iowa shooting death of Tony Alexander Young – Obituary

Tony Alexander Young, 30, of Des Moines, was killed in a shooting at an apartment on the 300 block of Court Avenue early on New Year’s Day. Police reported that Young sustained critical gunshot injuries and was transported to UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center, where he later died.

Authorities arrested 31-year-old Jordan Isaac Carmi, a resident of the same apartment, in connection with the shooting. Police said evidence indicates that Carmi used a handgun during a dispute at the residence. A handgun believed to be connected to the incident was recovered near Walnut Creek by the North Valley Drive bridge. Carmi has been charged with first-degree murder, and the investigation remains ongoing.
