Bobby Singh, a 14-year-old freshman at Northmor High School, lost his life Wednesday afternoon following a serious traffic accident in Morrow County, Ohio. The crash occurred along County Road 59 and has deeply affected the local school community.

School officials confirmed that Singh was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by 16-year-old Northmor junior Landon Bishop. Bishop sustained injuries and was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, where he remained hospitalized after the incident.

Northmor Local School District Superintendent Chad Redmon shared the tragic news with families in a message posted Thursday, expressing sympathy and support for those impacted. He said the district’s thoughts and prayers were with the families and friends of the students during this painful time.

Redmon explained that counseling and emotional support services would be available to students and staff. School counselors, social workers, and grief counselors are prepared to help anyone struggling with the loss as classes are set to resume on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Mount Gilead Post, the collision happened at about 2:53 p.m. near Morrow County Road 56 in Congress Township. Investigators reported that the Ford Ranger being driven eastbound left the roadway and struck a tree.

Emergency responders pronounced Singh dead at the scene. Bishop was treated and transported by Morrow County EMS. Authorities stated that both teenagers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.

Community members and school leaders continue to ask for prayers and support for the families involved and for the wider Northmor school community as they cope with the loss.
