Fatal Madera County, California car crash death of Isabella Marlene Villegas Nevarez – Obituary

Isabella Marlene Villegas Nevarez, 21, was among two people killed in a tragic New Year’s Eve traffic collision in Madera County, California. The fatal crash occurred late in the morning at the intersection of Road 23 and Avenue 13.

California Highway Patrol officers in Madera County responded to the scene shortly before 11 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. Investigators said the crash involved a white Honda CR-V and a large commercial truck.

According to CHP, preliminary findings suggest the SUV entered the intersection and crossed into the path of the semi-truck. Authorities believe the vehicle may have failed to stop or yield the right of way before striking the right side of the truck’s trailer.

Family members identified Isabella as one of the victims but chose not to speak publicly on camera. They shared that she was likely on her way to a barbecue with friends at the time of the collision. Relatives also stated that the Honda CR-V did not belong to her and that they do not believe she was driving when the crash occurred.

Investigators later confirmed that alcohol was a contributing factor in the collision. The identity of the second person who died in the crash has not yet been released by authorities.

CHP officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are urging motorists to make responsible decisions, particularly during holiday celebrations.

Family members said a memorial vigil is being planned at the crash site in the coming days. A GoFundMe has also been established in Isabella Marlene Villegas Nevarez’s name to help support her family as they cope with their loss.
