Fatal Clovis shooting death of Keilyn Parker – Obituary
Keilyn Parker, a 20-year-old man, has been identified as the victim who died following a shooting connected to a reported home break-in in Clovis, according to the Clovis Police Department.
Police said officers and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to a residence on East 7th Street around 12:30 a.m. after a 20-year-old man called 9-1-1 reporting that he had been shot during a break-in at his home. The caller told dispatchers that he had fired his weapon at the intruder and was hiding in a closet with his girlfriend.
Authorities confirmed that the caller suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators later identified a second man inside the home as Keilyn Parker. Parker had also been shot during the incident and was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Clovis Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
