Fatal Indianapolis shooting death of Aaron Reid Jr. – Obituary

Aaron Reid Jr., 18, has died following a New Year’s Eve shooting on Indianapolis’ far east side, police confirmed.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers were called to the 3600 block of Willowood Drive around 2:50 a.m. on December 31 after a gunshot incident was reported. Upon arrival, officers discovered Reid and a 17-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital by Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services. While the younger victim remained in stable condition, Reid, who had been critically injured, passed away on January 1.

Homicide detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
