Lamar Miller Jr., a 17-year-old teenager, was tragically shot while driving on the city’s near east side and later died after crashing his vehicle into a tree. The incident occurred early Friday morning, around 12:45 a.m., when Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers responded to a report of an accident in the 800 block of North Tuxedo Street, near Grace Tuxedo Park.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle crashed into a tree with Lamar Miller Jr. inside, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
IMPD is urging anyone with information to come forward and contact Detective Michael Wright at the IMPD Homicide Office. The case remains under investigation.
