The body of 4-year-old Johnathan Everett Boley was found in Walker County after he went missing on December 31.
Authorities discovered Boley’s body Friday afternoon, approximately two miles from his home on the 7000 block of Highway 195 in Jasper, according to Sheriff Nick Smith. Sheriff Smith described Johnathan as an adventurous child who loved spending time outdoors. The boy’s dog, believed to have been with him, was found alive at the scene.
Volunteers and law enforcement had spent several days searching for Johnathan before the discovery. Following the investigation, his father was arrested after explosives were found at his residence.
Sheriff Smith acknowledged the profound impact of the loss, praising the volunteer team for their efforts and noting the tragedy has deeply affected the community.
