Fatal Oakland shooting death of Tariq Roddy Figueroa – Obituary

Oakland authorities have identified 30-year-old Tariq Roddy Figueroa as the victim of a deadly shooting near a North Oakland barbershop on New Year’s Day. Figueroa was killed around 1:30 p.m. Thursday outside Cuts by Wesley, a walk-in barbershop owned by 35-year-old Wesley Broach, who has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Family and friends remembered Figueroa as a nature lover who enjoyed gardening and cherished spending time with his nieces and nephews. Investigators have not released details on what led to the shooting. Community members have left flowers and candles at the site where Figueroa lost his life.
