Jerry Sampson Jr. dies in fatal Marietta, Ga. stabbing

Fatal Marietta, Ga. stabbing death of Jerry Sampson Jr. – Obituary

Jerry Sampson Jr., 47, of Marietta, was fatally stabbed at the Midwood Creek apartment complex on Pat Mell Road on New Year’s Day, authorities confirmed. Cobb County police responded to the scene around 8:36 a.m., finding Sampson with a single stab wound. He was transported to a hospital but died from his injuries.

Police have arrested 50-year-old Zuberi A. Douglas of Marietta in connection with the stabbing. Douglas was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Cobb County Jail on charges including felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

The Cobb County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is seeking any additional information from the public regarding the deadly attack. Sampson’s family, friends, and the local community mourn his sudden and tragic death.
