Mattix Salmon, a 19-year-old man, lost his life following a serious collision involving a semi-truck in Fresno County, California. Authorities said the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Mannin Avenue and Riverside Avenue.

According to officials, Salmon was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when a semi-truck drifted into the westbound lanes and sideswiped his vehicle. The impact forced the pickup off the road, where it rolled several times before coming to rest.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attempted to provide medical assistance, but Salmon sustained critical injuries. He was pronounced dead as a result of the crash.

Investigators reported that the driver of the semi-truck stayed at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement. Officials continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision as the investigation remains ongoing.
