Fatal Gaithersburg shooting death of Taeyon Malachi Prather – Obituary
Taeyon Malachi Prather, an 18-year-old resident of Gaithersburg, was found dead Friday evening in a parking lot, authorities confirmed, marking a tragic homicide in Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services were dispatched around 7:21 p.m. to the 23600 block of Rolling Fork Way after a report of a person down. Upon arrival, responders discovered Prather suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and police were called to investigate.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division classified the case as a homicide following an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
No suspects have been identified or taken into custody, and authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances leading to the shooting.
