Sharon Jellue, 30, was found dead Monday morning inside her locked apartment at 1010 NE Crestmoor Place in Ankeny, Iowa, police reported. Officers discovered her body during a welfare check at approximately 8:53 a.m.
Johnson Browne, 32, Jellue’s long-term partner, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with her death. Court documents indicate Browne had been taken into custody the previous day on unrelated charges after a report of a suspicious man attempting to break into a vehicle. At that time, he was found with fresh injuries and blood on his hands and was to be involuntarily committed to a hospital.
Browne is currently held at the Polk County Jail on a $1 million cash-only bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 16 as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding Jellue’s death.
