Fatal Asheville, North Carolina pedestrian crash death of Daniel Anthony Duryea – Obituary

Daniel Anthony Duryea, 33, was killed on the night of January 3 when he was struck by a vehicle while walking on the I-240 East Exit 7 off-ramp in Asheville. The initial collision involved a Ford Flex driven by 37-year-old Shaina Renee Dallachiesa, who called 911 before leaving the scene.

After the first impact, Duryea was hit by a second vehicle, whose driver remained at the scene. He succumbed to his injuries despite emergency response efforts.

Following an investigation and consultation with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office, Dallachiesa was arrested on January 7 in Virginia. She faces felony charges for hit and run causing severe injury or death and driving with a revoked license. Authorities are seeking additional information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
