Fatal Longmont car crash death of Joseph Alfaro – Obituary

Joseph Alfaro, 39, was identified by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office as the pedestrian who lost his life following a traffic collision on New Year’s Day in Longmont. Joseph Alfaro was struck while attempting to cross Main Street from the east side to the west side during the evening hours.

According to Longmont police, the incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. when a vehicle traveling southbound in the outer lane of Main Street hit Alfaro as he crossed the roadway. Officers arrived almost immediately after the crash and rendered emergency medical assistance at the scene.

Alfaro was transported to a local hospital for further treatment but later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities confirmed that the driver, a resident of Longmont, remained at the location after the collision and has been fully cooperative with investigators.

Police officials stated that the circumstances leading up to the crash are still being reviewed. At this time, no charges have been announced as the investigation remains ongoing.
