Krystal Gilbert was found dead inside a Warner Robins home after police responded to a welfare check early Wednesday morning, authorities said. Krystal Gilbert, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators later determined her death was the result of a homicide.

According to the Warner Robins Police Department, officers were dispatched just after 7 a.m. to a residence in the 100 block of Kay Drive following concerns for the occupants’ safety. When officers entered the home, they discovered Gilbert lying on the floor, deceased.

Police also located a man inside a bedroom who was unresponsive at the time. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Law enforcement secured the scene as detectives began investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

In an updated statement, police identified 31-year-old Brandon Diaz as the suspect in the case. Authorities said Diaz was arrested and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. Investigators believe the incident was an isolated case of family violence.

Houston County Coroner James Williams confirmed that an autopsy will be conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab to determine the official cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact Warner Robins detectives or Macon Regional Crimestoppers.
