Annie Strickling-Ganes, a 28-year-old Neosho teacher, died after a shooting incident that occurred inside a residence over the weekend, according to local authorities. Police said the incident was reported as an accidental discharge of a firearm.
Officers were called to the home on Sunday after receiving reports of an unconscious woman with a gunshot wound. When they arrived, they found Annie Strickling-Ganes unresponsive and immediately began rendering medical aid at the scene.
She was transported to Freeman West Hospital for emergency treatment, but despite efforts by first responders and hospital staff, Annie Strickling-Ganes was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police confirmed that another individual, identified as Gavyn Crawford, was present at the home at the time of the shooting. Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the discharge of the firearm.
