Ryan Ebler, 28, was killed in a crash on I-64 near Lexington, Kentucky, after being pursued by state police in connection with a Dalton, Georgia homicide and arson investigation.

Authorities say Ebler was driving a stolen vehicle belonging to the homicide victim, Crystal Scotten, when he crossed the center line and collided with a tractor-trailer, sustaining fatal injuries. The Franklin County Coroner confirmed his death at the scene.

Crystal Scotten, 28, had died in a house fire in Dalton, and investigators tied Ebler to the incident. Family members said they were initially misled by Ebler about the circumstances of Crystal’s death. Police continue to investigate both the Kentucky crash and the Georgia homicide, with autopsy results on Crystal expected in 14 to 16 weeks.
