Fatal North St. Paul shooting death of Nehemiah Davis – Obituary

A 19-year-old man, identified as Nehemiah Davis from Coon Rapids, has tragically died following a shooting in North St. Paul on Saturday morning. Police were called to the 2000 block of 9th Avenue around 7:04 a.m. on January 10, 2026, after reports of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers found Davis suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and medical personnel, Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year-old man, Zay’vion Edgerson of Saint Paul, was arrested and booked into the Ramsey County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Authorities have stated that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the North St. Paul Police Department are continuing their investigation, which will be presented to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office for potential charges.
