Authorities have confirmed the identity of the woman who lost her life in a residential fire in Easton last week. The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said the victim was 74-year-old Sharon Cerullo.
Fire crews were dispatched Thursday night to a home located at 44 North Main Street after receiving reports of a structure fire. When firefighters entered the residence, they discovered one person inside a first-floor bedroom.
Cerullo, who officials said was the only person living in the home, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other occupants were found inside the house.
Investigators have not yet released details regarding how the fire started or the exact cause of death. The Easton Fire Department and the District Attorney’s Office continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the deadly blaze.
