Fatal Fallon, Nevada car crash death of Bradley Emery – Obituary
Bradley Emery, a 56-year-old Fallon resident, died after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 50 near Gummow Drive on January 6. The deadly incident happened in the early evening hours and prompted an investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
State police said troopers were dispatched to the scene at around 5:55 p.m. Investigators later determined that a Mercury Grand Marquis sedan was traveling westbound in the left lane of the highway when it hit Emery as he attempted to cross the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk.
Emery was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, but medical staff pronounced him dead shortly after arrival. Authorities confirmed his identity later that evening.
The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement. The Nevada Highway Patrol’s Major Incident Reconstruction Team has taken over the investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
Following the crash, westbound lanes of U.S. 50 were shut down between Bottom Road and Gummow Drive for several hours to allow investigators to work. The roadway has since reopened, and the investigation remains ongoing.
