David Jimenez, 57, was found dead in the backyard of his Laveen, Arizona home after being shot during a break-in on December 29, 2025. Police discovered his body in advanced stages of decomposition while responding to a welfare check, prompted by a missing neighbor report from the mother of 18-year-old Xzavion Johnson, who lived nearby.

Investigators determined that Johnson, 18, had entered Jimenez’s property armed with a handgun, intending to steal money. When confronted by Jimenez, Johnson shot him multiple times, killing him, then concealed the body under blankets in the backyard. Johnson remained in the home afterward, using Jimenez’s credit cards and driving his vehicle across the Valley.
