Fatal Chula Vista hit-and-run death of Ruizhi You – Obituary

Ruizhi You, 70, was killed Sunday afternoon in a hit-and-run incident in Chula Vista, California. Police found her unresponsive on North Greensview Drive near Park Meadows Road around 5:30 p.m. after she had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. She was transported to a hospital but later died from her injuries.

Investigators, using witness statements, resident interviews, and video evidence, located the suspect’s vehicle and arrested 46-year-old Monica Armenta the following Tuesday. Armenta was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter at the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility.
