Fatal North Austin shooting death of Cam Ron Perkins – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed that Cam Ron Perkins, a man in his adulthood, was killed in a shooting incident on Jan. 11 in North Austin. The Austin Police Department reported that this marks the city’s fourth homicide case of 2026.

Police responded around 8 p.m. to multiple gunshots reported at 9616 North Lamar Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered Perkins, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators indicated that the suspect fled the area in a black Dodge Charger or Dodge Challenger. Officials are asking anyone with information or potential evidence to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS or submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. Rewards of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
