Fatal Edinburg crash death of Victor Torres – Obituary

Victor Torres, a 33-year-old man from Edinburg, died Tuesday evening after a high-speed crash while trying to evade a Texas Department of Public Safety traffic stop. The incident occurred around 9:16 p.m. on Brushline Road, north of Davis Road.

According to DPS, officers attempted to pull Torres over for a traffic violation, but he fled at a high speed on his motorcycle. Traveling northbound, Torres tried to pass a dump truck moving in the same direction. When the truck turned left into a driveway, Torres collided with it.

Torres, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was thrown from the motorcycle and later died at a hospital. Authorities say the crash is still under investigation.
