Waverly, Va. Man Joshua Barrow Arrested in Sussex County for Fatal Shooting

WAVERLY, VA. — Joshua Barrow, a 19-year-old resident of Waverly, was arrested in Sussex County in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday evening.

According to the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office, Barrow was taken into custody on Wednesday at the Sussex Trace Apartments on Leneave Lane, where deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 4:30 p.m. Authorities say the incident stemmed from an argument between Barrow and a 45-year-old man, who was shot and killed during the confrontation. Sheriff Ernest Giles stated that the suspect and the victim were known to each other.

Barrow was transported to the Sussex County Jail and is currently facing charges of murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
