Fatal Colonie car crash death of Cornelius Morrison – Obituary

Colonie authorities have confirmed that 77-year-old Cornelius Morrison of Albany was struck and killed by a vehicle on Central Avenue Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. near 1157 Central Avenue. Police say the driver involved is cooperating fully with investigators, and preliminary reports indicate that impairment was not a factor. No charges have been filed, nor are any anticipated at this time.

Traffic along Central Avenue, between Osborne Road and Kraft Avenue, was closed for several hours following the crash but reopened around 8:30 p.m. Officials are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact the Colonie Police Traffic Safety Division at (518) 783-2754.
