Charlotte, North Carolina Woman Q’Laundra Kadri Hood Arrested in Charlotte for Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash
CHARLOTTE, N.C.— Q’Laundra Kadri Hood, a 28-year-old woman, was arrested in Charlotte in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed 25-year-old pedestrian Lance Andreas Jesus Sotelo.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Hood was taken into custody on Thursday after turning herself in at the Hickory Grove Division. Authorities say the incident occurred Wednesday evening around 5:47 p.m. in the 3300 block of The Plaza, where Sotelo was struck while in the roadway.
Investigators said the vehicle involved, a white Chevrolet Impala, was traveling southwest on The Plaza at East 36th Street when it ran a red light and struck Sotelo before fleeing the scene. Sotelo was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC personnel.
Hood was transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail and is currently facing multiple charges, including felony hit and run, involuntary manslaughter, no operator’s license, failing to stop at a red light, and related traffic offenses. The investigation remains ongoing.
