Fatal Hertford County pedestrian crash death of Darrick Davis – Obituary

Darrick Davis, an Ahoskie man, tragically died last night after being struck by a vehicle while walking along U.S. 13 in Hertford County. The incident occurred around 11:33 p.m. near East Modlin Road, where Davis was found unresponsive in a ditch by authorities.

Troopers reported that Davis, who was wearing dark clothing, was walking south in the middle of the highway when he was hit by an elderly woman driving northbound. The impact sent him into the ditch, where he was later pronounced dead by EMS.

The driver of the vehicle has not been charged, and the investigation into the incident is complete.
