Gerardo Torres Cano, a 30-year-old motorcyclist, was killed Wednesday morning after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on State Route 94 in the community of Dulzura. The deadly crash occurred around 8:40 a.m. in the 17304 block of the highway, prompting a response from emergency crews and the California Highway Patrol.

Investigators said Cano was traveling on his motorcycle when it struck a pickup truck that was attempting to make a left turn into a driveway. Paramedics arrived quickly and performed life-saving efforts, but Cano was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 8:56 a.m.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, and authorities reported no arrests in connection with the incident. Officials determined that Cano died from blunt force trauma, with no contributing medical conditions noted, and ruled the manner of death an accident.

The crash caused traffic delays along State Route 94 as officers secured the area and conducted a preliminary investigation. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, and officials confirmed that Cano’s family has been notified.
