Eric Sullivan, a 65-year-old Philadelphia resident, was killed in a violent three-vehicle collision that left four other people injured, according to city police. The deadly crash occurred along Lincoln Drive and prompted an ongoing investigation by authorities.
Philadelphia police said the incident unfolded when a vehicle traveling northbound crossed over into the southbound lanes and slammed head-on into another car before striking a third vehicle. The force of the impact caused the initial vehicle to roll over several times.
Sullivan, who was driving a white 1997 Toyota 4Runner, was thrown from the vehicle during the crash, police said. Emergency medical crews responded to the scene, but he was pronounced dead on the roadway at approximately 9:25 p.m.
Three occupants of the second vehicle involved were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where they were treated and listed in stable condition. That vehicle was identified as a black 2026 Mercedes-Benz C-300 driven by a 45-year-old man, with a 36-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl as passengers.
The driver of the third vehicle, a black 2025 Nissan Rogue, was transported to Lankenau Hospital. Officials said the extent of that driver’s injuries was not immediately known.
Police confirmed that the investigation into the crash remains active. Further details about the circumstances leading up to the collision, as well as information about Sullivan’s life, had not been released at the time of reporting.
