Wade Meeker, a 51-year-old man from Danbury, Connecticut, was killed in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon, Seymour police reported. His death occurred at the scene despite immediate efforts by officers and emergency medical personnel to save him.

Authorities said the crash took place around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 34 (Roosevelt Drive) and Maiden Lane. A 2010 Nissan Rogue driven by Meeker collided head-on with a 2015 Dodge Charger operated by an 18-year-old woman.

Police found Meeker unresponsive with no pulse and began CPR while waiting for emergency responders. Despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dodge Charger driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing as authorities continue to review the events leading up to the fatal crash.
