Fatal Contra Costa County, California motorcycle crash death of Curtis Carr – Obituary
Curtis Carr, a 54-year-old resident of Brentwood, California, was killed Monday morning in a motorcycle crash on Vasco Road, authorities confirmed. Carr was pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected from his bike and landing down an embankment.
The crash occurred around 5 a.m., just north of Dyer Road, while Carr was riding southbound. California Highway Patrol officers reported that he lost control of the motorcycle, which crossed into the northbound lane and struck a guardrail before rolling a significant distance. The motorcycle eventually came to rest, blocking the northbound lane and causing a traffic backup for several hours.
Emergency crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and CHP spent more than 20 minutes locating Carr following the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances that caused the motorcycle to lose control.
Carr’s family and the Brentwood community are mourning the loss of the motorcyclist in this tragic accident.
