Mikiylia Guines, 7, was killed during a shooting spree in West Point, Mississippi, authorities confirmed. The tragic incident also claimed the lives of five other individuals at multiple locations, allegedly carried out by 24-year-old Daricka Moore, who is reported to be Guines’s second cousin.

Guines’s mother, Lashanna Guines, described the heartbreaking moment she saw her daughter die in front of her two other children, expressing deep sorrow and questioning if more could have been done to save her. The family is now seeking prayers and support as they cope with the loss, with the child’s grandfather stepping in to help hold the family together.

Moore has been charged with multiple counts, including three counts of capital murder, three counts of first-degree murder, attempted murder of a child, attempted sexual battery, burglary, and two counts of felony vehicle theft. He pleaded not guilty to all charges, was denied bond, and ordered to undergo a mental evaluation.
