Edward Mark Owen, 32, has been identified as the man found deceased beside a railway line in Carmarthen following an emergency response that caused disruption to train services over the weekend.

The discovery was made during the morning hours of Saturday, January 10, after passengers traveling through Carmarthen reported seeing what appeared to be a body in a field near the railway station. Emergency services were alerted, prompting officers from Dyfed-Powys Police and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service to attend the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m.

Police activity was visible in a field adjacent to the station while rail services continued to pass through the area. Authorities later confirmed that a body had been recovered from the location.

Investigators have since formally identified the deceased as Edward Mark Owen, who was from the Knighton area of Powys. Police stated that inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death are ongoing, but at this stage there is no evidence to suggest any suspicious factors were involved.
