Authorities in Charleston have confirmed the identity of a pedestrian who died following a traffic collision earlier this month. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office said the victim was Randolph Goff, a 65-year-old Charleston resident.

Police stated that the incident occurred on January 12 as Goff was attempting to cross Sam Rittenberg Boulevard. During the crossing, he was struck by a vehicle and sustained critical injuries that required immediate medical attention.

Emergency responders transported Goff to a nearby hospital, where he remained under care for more than a week. Despite treatment, he later died from complications related to the injuries on January 20.

Investigators noted that the driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene, and the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under review.
