Authorities have identified the woman who died following a house fire in Moline as Joyce Melvin, 87.
The Rock Island County Coroner, Brian Gustafson, reported that Melvin was rescued from a blaze on the 4800 block of 47th Street on Friday but succumbed to her injuries the following day. Preliminary findings indicate that smoke inhalation was the cause of death.
