St. Louis, Missouri Man Jamaal Jones Arrested in St. Louis for First-Degree Murder
ST. LOUIS, MO — Jamaal Jones, a 27-year-old resident of St. Louis, was arrested in the City of St. Louis in connection with the fatal shooting of a missing man found dead in the Central West End.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Jones was taken into custody Tuesday night during a traffic stop near Boyle Avenue and Lindell Boulevard after officers responded to an earlier report of shots fired. Authorities say the shooting occurred Tuesday evening, involving 23-year-old Jardyn Walker, who had been reported missing after last being seen delivering packages in the University City area.
Investigators later located Walker in the 4200 block of Olive Street, where he had suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said Jones and Walker knew each other and were together earlier that night at an apartment near where the shooting occurred.
Jones was transported to a local detention facility and is currently facing charges of first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and tampering with evidence related to the incident.
