Jonah Ray McCay, a 70-year-old resident of Pinson, was killed Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle along Pinson Boulevard, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred sometime after 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Pinson Boulevard and Cedar Street. Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Center Point Fire Department, responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car.

McCay was found at the scene and was pronounced dead at approximately 7:50 p.m. Officials said the driver involved in the collision remained at the location and has been cooperating fully with investigators.
