Fatal New Orleans Treme shooting death of Alvin Garabold – Obituary

Alvin Garabold, a high school assistant principal from Slidell, was killed in a shooting on Tuesday morning, January 20, in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans.

Police discovered Garabold’s body around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Governor Nicholls and North Villere. He had dedicated his career to education, serving students and families at Salmen High School in Slidell.

St. Tammany Parish Public Schools Superintendent Frank Jabbia described Garabold as a devoted educator whose commitment to his students left a lasting impact. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
