Fatal Killeen shooting death of Randy Lee Wright – Obituary

The Killeen Police Department has confirmed the death of 58-year-old Randy Lee Wright following a shooting incident on January 18. Officers responded to a call about a violent domestic disturbance at around 1:34 p.m. that day, where they found Wright in a breezeway with multiple gunshot wounds.

 

Wright was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. A woman was also injured in the incident and was transported to Seton Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

 

According to preliminary reports, witnesses heard a woman screaming and saw a man point a gun at her. A 66-year-old man nearby reportedly intervened when the 58-year-old man aimed his weapon at both the woman and the 66-year-old. The 66-year-old man then fired his own gun, fatally shooting Wright.

 

Police have not identified the other people involved and stated that the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made, and the case is under review by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office.
