Six killed in fatal Tehama County bus crash involving Toyota pickup

Fatal Tehama County bus crash death of Christina Sue Whittemore, Kelly Margaret Langstaff, Casandra Ann Moreno, John Douglas Perry, Trena Kay Kain, and Oscar Casas Carrillo – Obituary

Six individuals lost their lives in a tragic head-on collision on January 14th on Highway 99, south of Gyle Road, in Tehama County. Christina Sue Whittemore, 41, of Corning, was driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup when it crossed the center line and struck a Tehama Rural Area eXpress (TRAX) bus.

The bus driver, Kelly Margaret Langstaff, 50, of Red Bluff, and passengers Casandra Ann Moreno, 42, of Red Bluff; John Douglas Perry, 72, of Chico; Trena Kay Kain (also known as Trenna Darrow), 62, of Corning; and Oscar Casas Carrillo, 41, of Corning, all died at the scene.

A lone survivor, 54-year-old Joseph Rhoads, was transported to Enloe Medical Center in Chico with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
