A 21-year-old motorcyclist from Milwaukee lost his life Thursday night when his bike collided with an SUV that turned in front of him, Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened around 10:13 p.m. on northbound A1A near Sawgrass Village Drive, causing a temporary closure of all northbound lanes. Authorities said the SUV was heading south on A1A and attempted a left turn into the Fountains of Ponte Vedra condominium complex, moving directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the middle right side of the SUV, according to FHP. Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The SUV’s driver, a 64-year-old woman, and her 70-year-old passenger, both from Ponte Vedra Beach, were unharmed in the accident.
