Fatal Polk County multi-vehicle crash death of Richard Lee Logan – Obituary
Richard Lee Logan, 75, of Clermont, Florida, was killed in a four-vehicle collision in Polk County on Sunday evening, March 8, 2026. The crash occurred on the 15000 block of Commonwealth Avenue near State Road 33, around 8:26 p.m.
Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported that two motorcyclists, a man and a woman from Florida’s SunCoast area, were also killed in the accident. Witnesses said the Logan’s Dodge Charger attempted to pass three vehicles by entering the southbound lane and struck the two motorcycles head-on. One of the motorcyclists was thrown into a northbound 2011 white Jeep Compass.
Janice M. Logan, 75, the passenger in the Dodge Charger, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital along with other injured occupants. The driver of the fourth vehicle involved in the crash was unharmed. Polk County Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
