Fatal Lexington County, South Carolina car crash death of Michael James Turner – Obituary

Authorities are looking into a deadly collision that claimed the life of 65-year-old Michael James Turner. Officials said the incident took place Friday at approximately 5:20 p.m. along Calks Ferry Road close to Liberty Hill Road.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2018 Ford pickup truck was heading west when it crossed over the center line and entered the opposite lane. The vehicle then struck a 2025 Toyota pickup that was traveling east.

After the impact, the Toyota left the roadway and crashed into a tree. Turner, who was driving the Ford pickup, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.

Margaret Fisher confirmed Turner’s identity and said he was a resident of Gilbert.

Officials reported that the driver of the Toyota truck was not hurt in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
