Police confirmed that Rhonda Dorgan was killed Monday during a shooting at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena while attending a hockey game with family members. Her adult son, Aidan Dorgan, was also critically wounded in the attack and later died at a hospital.

Authorities identified the gunman as Robert Dorgan, Rhonda’s former spouse and Aidan’s father. Investigators said he arrived at the arena armed with two firearms and multiple ammunition magazines, some of which reportedly exceeded the state’s legal capacity limits.

The violence also left three others seriously injured, including the suspect’s relatives and a family acquaintance. Officials said bystanders intervened and managed to stop the attacker before he was able to continue. During the confrontation, he fatally shot himself.

Police said the family had gathered at the rink to watch another son participate in a high school hockey game. At this time, investigators have not determined a motive and stated there had been no known warnings or reports suggesting violence was imminent.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives review evidence and video recordings from the scene. The tragedy has left the local community grieving as loved ones remember Rhonda for her life and mourn the devastating loss suffered by the family.
