Authorities say Rhonda Dorgan and her adult son Aidan Dorgan were killed during a shooting that unfolded Monday at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena while a youth hockey game was underway.

Police reported that the gunman, identified as Robert Dorgan, deliberately targeted family members during the incident. Rhonda lost her life at the scene, while Aidan was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Three additional victims — Rhonda’s parents and a family friend — were seriously wounded and remained in critical condition following the violence.

Investigators said spectators scrambled for safety as the shooting began, but several individuals courageously intervened and managed to stop the attacker before he could continue. Officials confirmed that the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The family had gathered at the arena to watch another son participate in a hockey game. Police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, which has left relatives, friends, and the wider community mourning the devastating loss.
