Authorities have identified Misty Lynn, 34, as the woman who lost her life in a deadly crash in Fresno County that authorities say involved a driver suspected of being under the influence.

According to investigators, the collision occurred Wednesday afternoon on Highway 180 near Old Oak Road, close to Dunlap. Officials say Lynn was driving when a Tesla operated by a 41-year-old man crossed into oncoming traffic.

The vehicle struck Lynn’s car head-on, causing the force of the crash to push her vehicle approximately 30 feet down a mountainside. Lynn was killed in the incident.

A post shared by her employer on Facebook included a photo of Lynn and stated that she had been on her way to work at Bella Brooke Cafe when the crash occurred.

Authorities say the Tesla driver was traveling with two children, both younger than five years old, seated in the back. Investigators reported that the children were properly secured in their safety seats.

The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The children were also taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Law enforcement officials later arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs as the investigation continues.
