Fatal Croydon stabbing death of Lorik Abazi – Obituary
Police have confirmed that Lorik Abazi, 22, lost his life after being stabbed in Croydon during the early hours of Sunday, February 15. Emergency crews responded to Hesterman Way at around 1.15am alongside the London Ambulance Service, where they discovered three injured men, including Abazi.
He was transported to hospital for urgent treatment, but despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries. His relatives described him as a thoughtful and intelligent young man, expressing deep grief and saying his loss has left their lives in darkness.
Later that same day, officers detained two women, both aged 25, and a 28-year-old man on suspicion of murder. One of the women was subsequently released on bail while investigations continued.
Four more individuals were also taken into custody in connection with violent disorder. Among them were two 21-year-old men who had also been stabbed, with one still hospitalized in critical condition. A 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman were also arrested, though one has since been released on bail.
Chief Superintendent Nick Blackburn stated that detectives are continuing intensive work to identify everyone responsible and ensure justice is served.
