Fatal Croydon stabbing death of Lorik Abazi – Obituary

Lorik Abazi, a 22-year-old resident of Croydon, has died after suffering stab wounds during a violent incident early Sunday morning.

Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service responded to reports of a stabbing on Hesterman Way at about 1:15 a.m. on February 15. When they arrived, they discovered three injured men, including Lorik, all with knife wounds. He was rushed to hospital, but despite medical efforts, he did not survive.

His grieving relatives remembered him as a thoughtful and intelligent young man whose loss has left them heartbroken. They said his death has created an immense void in their lives and expressed deep sorrow over losing him.

Authorities quickly launched an investigation, arresting two women, both aged 25, and a 28-year-old man on suspicion of murder later that same day. One of the women has since been granted bail while inquiries continue.

In addition, four more individuals were detained in connection with affray. Among them were two 21-year-old men who were also wounded during the confrontation. One remains hospitalized in serious condition. The other people arrested include a 21-year-old woman, who has been released on bail, and a 22-year-old woman.

Chief Superintendent Nick Blackburn said detectives are working tirelessly to ensure those responsible are held accountable. He reassured residents that the violence appears to be an isolated event and noted that extra police patrols have been introduced to increase safety and provide reassurance to the local community.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have information to contact police by calling 101 and referencing the case number, or to reach out anonymously through Crimestoppers.
