Fatal Corpus Christi car crash death of Jacqueline Farmer – Obituary

Jacqueline Farmer, a 43-year-old woman, was killed in a traffic collision Tuesday evening on the west side of Corpus Christi, after another motorist allegedly ignored a red light and struck her vehicle.

According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, the crash happened shortly before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Greenwood Drive and Horne Road. Investigators said Farmer was driving east along Horne Road when a man traveling north on Greenwood entered the intersection against the signal and slammed into her car.

Emergency responders pronounced Farmer dead at the scene due to the severity of her injuries. The man driving the other vehicle survived but was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Lieutenant Gabe Garcia stated earlier that officers closed the intersection for several hours while they documented the scene and collected evidence. Authorities also noted that the crash damaged nearby traffic control equipment, leaving signals without power as utility crews worked to repair the system.

Police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision and are expected to release additional findings once their investigation is complete.
